Last week I outlined Act One of my new show, Trump! The Musical. If you’ve not seen it yet, it’s here.
I’m pleased to follow this up, and present Act Two. Basically it’s more of the same: scenes and songs that hold Trump and the GOP to account for their moves towards theocratic dictatorship. And naked agression against innocent minorities in the name of their so-called Christianity.
We ended Act One with the Democrats fighting back (one hopes) with a rousing song from Les Misérables.
OK, so you’ve had your interval G&T, a pee and an ice cream, and now you’re settling back in your seats as the lights dim for the second act of this sure-fire smash hit…
ACT TWO
Scene 1 – Outside Trump Tower, New York
ENTER TRUMP
SONG – You gotta pick a pocket or two (from Oliver!) – Trump
TRUMP goes inside Trump Tower, just as MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE ENTERS
SONG – I don’t know how to love him (from Jesus Christ Superstar) – Marjorie Taylor Greene
She ends the song in tears, holding her hand out to where TRUMP went inside, then turns and EXITS.
TRUMP appears on a balcony in flawless make-up and a white ballgown (go with me on this…)
(Wait for it…)
SONG – Don’t cry for me, Margie Taylor (adapted from Evita) – Trump
Scene 2 – A classroom in a primary school
ENTER CHILDREN, who hide under their desks.
ENTER the NRA CHORUS (same as the MAGA Chorus in Act One, just with more guns, and their hats on backwards). They surround the CHILDREN with guns out.
SONG – Revolting Children (from Matilda the Musical) – NRA Chorus
ENTER SOME ARMED POLICEMEN
SONG – They both reached for the gun (from Chicago) – NRA Chorus and Policemen
Scene 3 – A Pride Parade
ENTER DRAG QUEEN and GAY CHORUS
Bright, sunny lighting. There is much laughter, hugging and friendly banter. A high-energy dance takes place to the Theme from Fame. When this ends, they all drink from cans of Bud Light.
The music changes to:
SONG – Love Changes Everything (from Aspects of Love) – Drag Queen and Gay Chorus
ENTER the REPUBLICAN CHRISTIAN CHORUS
The lighting changes and becomes dark and foreboding. The REPUBLICAN CHRISTIANS move round the GAY CHORUS, breaking up the hugging and friendly exchanges, hitting people on the head with bibles and throwing down the cans of Bud Light.
SONG – Something Bad (from Wicked) – Republican Christian Chorus
The REPUBLICAN CHRISTIANS EXIT, and the lighting becomes bright again, and everyone resumes their happy laughter and hugging.
SONG – Keep it gay (from The Producers) – Drag Queen and Gay Chorus
Scene 4 – Disney World, Florida
ENTER MICKEY, MINNIE, PLUTO, DONALD (the duck) AND GOOFY
ENTER RON DESANTIS
SONG – I’m gonna wash that mouse right outa my hair (adapted from South Pacific) – Ron DeSantis
SONG – Be our guest (from Beauty and the Beast) – Mickey & co
Scene 5 – A Manhattan Courtroom
ENTER TRUMP
SONG – Tomorrow belongs to me (from Cabaret) – Trump
ENTER ALVIN BRAGG (Manhattan DA)
SONG – Making Things Up Again (from Book of Mormon) – Bragg
Scene 6 – A New York Jail
TRUMP is revealed in an orange top and trousers, in a cell. He puts his hands on the bars.
SONG – Close Every Door (from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat) – Trump
FINALE – The steps of the Capitol
ENTER JOE BIDEN, KAMALA HARRIS and the PEOPLE’S CHORUS (same as the Gay Chorus, just with less flesh on show).
SONG - Love Is A Many Splendored Thing (from Grease) – Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and The People’s Chorus
I’m seeing this as a sure-fire hit. Let’s keep this going - what other song titles could be used in this show? Put your suggestions in the comments below.
